This week, we hosted our Taster Day event as part of our comprehensive programme aimed at easing the transition for Year 11s as they move from school to college.
We welcomed more than 750 students through our doors to immerse themselves in life as a Franklin student.
Students were able to explore their first-choice courses as they got to know the learning style, environment, and topics they’ll be interacting with when they join us in September.
Not only did students have the chance to explore their academic curiosity, but they also had the opportunity to explore our impressive facilities. This included our brand-new university style learning centre, The Bridge, and our state-of-the-art 360o Immersive Space. Not to mention all our amazing social spaces students were able to enjoy with their free lunch.
Throughout the day, students were able to interact with our exceptional staff, asking questions about courses and life here at Franklin. From our enthusiastic tutors to knowledgeable support staff, the team proved to be an invaluable resource, ensuring that each student felt supported and encouraged no matter their needs.
Taster Day also saw students assigned bridging work to provide a flavour of the workstyle and content of their chosen courses. Don’t forget, this should be finished and brought either printed or digitally to enrolment.
The day proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on Year 11s who are now looking forward to the amazing opportunities waiting for them at College. These future Franklin students are more than ready to embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.
