Eight students from our Teaching Academy attended Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) last week for their graduation ceremony.
Our Teaching Academy is a year-long programme run in partnership with BGU. As part of the programme, students undertook ten placements at local schools, gaining hands-on experience in different teaching environments and developing their knowledge in a range of schools, giving them the confidence and leadership skills required for such a diverse role.
During the visit, the students were welcomed, with a lecture from primary educators at BGU and taken on a campus tour, giving them an insight into university life. They then attended their graduation ceremony, where they were presented with their certificates recognising their hard work and dedication throughout the course and to celebrate their incredible achievements.
The trip to BGU was an excellent opportunity for our students to plan their next steps after Franklin. It gave them further insight into life at BGU and what it means to be a teacher.
