Our 3rd annual STEM conference was a huge success!

Yesterday we were delighted to host our 3rd annual STEM conference!

We had 6 local schools attend with over 250 students plus our own Year 12 and 13 students.  The event had 20 different interactive workshops delivered by a range of universities and employers, all designed to raise the awareness of the vast careers and pathways available within the STEM sector.  Employers included Ore Catapult, Xceco, Army, CPG, A Class Above, British Steel, Solenis, North Lindsey College, Franklin College, Lincoln University and our sponsors Hull University.  Students were treated with different workshops including cosmetic chemistry, physiotherapy, mathematical modelling, Grasshoppers life science, chemical testing, games development plus so much more.  Rounding off an amazing interactive afternoon students were given Dominoes pizza for tea!

Following on from our STEM event we hosted our annual Careers and Progression event where we had over 80 employers and universities attending with stands, equipment and promotional material.  Throughout the evening there were 25 different talks taking place ranging from personal finance talks, Russel group universities, Oxbridge, Degree Apprenticeships, apprenticeships, routes in to teaching, law, chemistry, nursing and midwifery, ODP, careers in sport and personal statements.

Feedback was fantastic with over 1000 visitors to each event, certainly our busiest time of the year and great to support National Careers week.
