Gary Thomas, Franklin Sixth Form College Vice Principal Teaching and Learning, said:

We are delighted to announce that Franklin is strengthening its partnership with Lincoln Bishop University as an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provider.

“This exciting collaboration strengthens our commitment to developing the next generation of teachers. Through this partnership, we will be able to train and support individuals within our college and the wider local community who aspire to pursue a rewarding career in teaching.

“Together with Bishop Lincoln University, we look forward to offering high‑quality training, teaching practice, and professional support that will help future teachers thrive. This marks a significant step in expanding opportunities for those who want to make a difference in education.”

Taught entirely at Franklin, the programme has been designed to support the College’s Aspiring Teachers Programme, those looking to change career, graduates, and education professionals working in SEND or support roles.

Stefan Fusenich, Programme Leader Initial Teacher Education, Lincoln Bishop University, and part of the team leading on this exciting training opportunity, commented:

“This collaboration marks a truly exciting step forward for aspiring teachers in our region. By bringing Lincoln Bishop University’s teacher‑training expertise directly into the heart of Franklin Sixth Form College, we’re creating a powerful new pathway into the profession. Students will be able to train where they study, supported by outstanding practitioners, while gaining qualifications awarded by Lincoln Bishop University. It’s a partnership built on shared values, shared ambition, and a shared commitment to developing the next generation of inspirational educators.”
