Support Work in School

Level 2 Award

Do you have a passion for working with Children? If so, our level 2 introductory course will prepare you for working in an educational environment. You will gain the knowledge and understanding of the key requirements for working with children and young people. There are six core topics that you will study including child development, safeguarding, equality and diversity, communication, health and safety and the organisation of the education sector.

Early Years Practitioner

Level 2 Diploma

This course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to work in an early years setting working with babies and toddlers in future careers such as a nursery nurse or educational support advisor.

During your studies, you will build a portfolio and undertake coursework and a voluntary placement for 12 hours a week, where you will gain practical experience in working with children. You will study topics such as child development, play and learning, safeguarding and health and safety, preparing you for further study or employment in the early years sector.

Supporting Teaching and Learning

Level 2 Certificate

If you are interested in studying for a qualification that will allow you to work in a classroom or college, with children and young people, in careers such as a teaching assistant or a classroom support assistant, then this course is for you. As a student on this course, you will explore subjects such as child development, play and learning, safeguarding and health and safety whilst undertaking coursework and portfolio development.

You will also be required to attend a voluntary placement for 12 hours a week to gain practical experience in working with children and develop the essential knowledge and skills required to work in the sector. Assessment is 100% coursework and placement observations.

Early Years Practitioner

Level 3 Diploma

This course will prepare you to become an Early Years Educator, giving you the skills and knowledge, you’ll need for a career working with children from birth to 5 years and children aged 5 to 7 years.

Throughout the course, you undertake a work placement where you will be assessed in the workplace. You will also learn the essential skills for the care and development of children focusing on the three key areas of health and well-being, legislation frameworks and professional practice.

Upon the successful completion of this qualification, you will be able to gain employment as a fully qualified level 3 Early Years Educator or Progress onto higher education study. This course is 100% coursework and observation for the level of professional standards for Early Years Educators.

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

Level 3 Diploma

Studying this course will prepare you to become a level 3 supporting teaching assistant, allowing you the opportunity to work in a classroom or college with children and young people.

You will build your key skills in the care and development of children, focusing on health and wellbeing, legislation frameworks, and professional practice. This course is popular for those who want to work with children above the age of five.

You can progress directly into employment as a Level 3 Early Years Educator or onto higher education and university. You will be assessed through 100% coursework and observation for the level 3 professional standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning.
