Franklin in Malta

“A trip of a lifetime.”

During our summer term 30 of our Franklin students had the opportunity to head out to Malta for a fortnight. The trip was in collaboration with partner ACT colleges; Wilberforce and John Leggott providing the opportunity for students with a passion for sport and coaching to experience coaching internationally.

“I didn’t know any other students going on the trip, it really pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed every minute. Two weeks of incredible excursions! My favourite part was scuba diving, I’d never done it before, but it was incredible! I would recommend to any upcoming students to keep an eye out for any trips and visits!” Alex, former Ormiston student.

Lucy, former Healing student goes on to say, “I’ve made friends for a lifetime, and we’ve already arranged to meet up over summer. It was such a great trip. My favourite part was scuba diving as well, but the whole trip was amazing! I’d love to go again.”

The trip also consisted of climbing activities, a trip to Golden Bay Beach, Horse-riding, Boat Trips & Archery.

Receiving messages from parents following their arrival home highlighted the success of the trip.

“We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff that accompanied the Malta trip. Our daughter has had the time of her life - memories made, new skills developed, new activities tried, friends made, and cultures experienced. What a wonderful opportunity for them all and only made possible by enthusiastic staff willing to give up their time. It’s such a huge responsibility but the memories and experiences will last her a lifetime.”
