Franklin hosts the 5th Annual STEM Conference during National Careers Week

During National Careers Week, we are thrilled to welcome industry partners and schools to our 5th Annual STEM Conference on Thursday, March 7th.

The much-anticipated event promises students an exciting day with over 20 interactive workshops designed to inspire the next generation of STEM innovators. Students will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of industries through workshops on Physiotherapy, Engineering, Renewables, Food Science, Medicine, Cosmetic Science, Games Development, Mathematical Modelling and much more. The STEM-focused activities will be provided by Franklin's STEM team and esteemed partners such as Hull University, RWE, Orsted, ORE Catapult and more. 

This year, we welcome over 14 schools to Franklin including, John Spendluffe Technology College, Waltham Tollbar Academy, John Whitgift Academy, Cleethorpes Academy, Oasis Academy Wintringham, St James School, Humberston Academy, Louth Academy, Caistor Yarborough Academy, The Academy Grimsby, Ormiston Maritime Academy, Beacon Academy, Baysgarth School and Healing Academy alongside our dedicated STEM students in Years 12 and 13. 
Following the exciting STEM event, we will host our Annual Careers and Progression evening with over 90 employers, apprentice providers and universities, offering advice and guidance to students after they have completed their time at Franklin. Throughout the evening, there will be informative talks covering topics such as Finance, the benefits of Russell Group universities, law and apprenticeships. This year, we are excited to introduce the Health Village, a dedicated space based in the Theatre hosting health-focused providers and employers.
