Celebrating Excellence: Introducing the Stand Out Student Awards

We’re thrilled to launch the Stand Out Student Awards to recognise and celebrate the exceptional qualities and achievements of our students.

The awards are designed to spotlight outstanding individuals from various curriculum areas – including Level 2, Vulnerable / SEND, Aspire, and ALT – who have demonstrated excellence in their college journey.

Nomination Criteria

The Stand Out Student Awards offer an opportunity for each curriculum area to nominate two exceptional students per half term.

Students can be nominated and rewarded for the following:

  • Improved Attendance
  • Demonstrating Resilience and Perseverance
  • Positive Feedback from Work Placement
  • Going Above and Beyond
  • Unique Contribution to College Life
  • Outstanding Work Ethic

Nomination Process

To nominate a student, staff members need to provide a brief overview and reason for their nomination. The final selection will be the responsibility of the Head of Department.

Recognising 100% Attendance

In addition to the Stand Out Student Awards, we’ll also be sending congratulatory letters to students with 100% attendance at the end of each term. This is part of our broader rewards and commendation focus, aimed at encouraging regular attendance and fostering a culture of excellence at Franklin.

Award Presentation

A grand award ceremony will take place during the first week back after every half term. Students, parents, and carers will be invited to a special lunchtime event where they’ll enjoy the presentation of awards and enjoy refreshments.

Each award winner will be presented with a certificate and a £10 voucher. There’s also GTFC tickets up for grabs. The inaugural award ceremony takes place on Wednesday November 8th. We can’t wait to see you there!
